Kinvent Environmental Month: Learning, Reflecting and Building a More Sustainable Future Together

Throughout June, Kinvent’s headquarters in Montpellier dedicated a specific time to environmental month awareness and collective action. Through The Week, a conference on The Great Acceleration, and a regenerative business workshop led by Impulsea, employees came together to explore how innovation and sustainability can shape the future of the company.

A Month to Learn, Reflect and Build the Future Together

At Kinvent, innovation has always been about more than technology.

Every day, our teams work to develop solutions that help healthcare professionals and sports performance specialists make better decisions through objective data. But innovation also means questioning how we work, how we collaborate, and the impact we have on the world around us.

This June, our headquarters in Montpellier dedicated an entire month to exploring one of today’s most important challenges: environmental responsibility.
Organized by our Human Resources team on a voluntary basis, Kinvent’s Environmental Month brought together employees from across departments to better understand today’s environmental challenges, exchange perspectives, and collectively imagine what a more sustainable Kinvent could look like.

Rather than delivering ready-made answers, the initiative was designed to encourage dialogue, curiosity and collective intelligence. Throughout the month, employees had the opportunity to participate in several complementary workshops and experiences, guided by the sustainability experts from Impulsea.
The objective was simple: create a shared understanding of environmental issues while empowering everyone to contribute to the future of the company.

Partnering with Experts in Sustainable Transformation

To support this initiative, Kinvent partnered with Impulsea, a French consulting company specialized in helping organizations integrate sustainability into their strategy and culture.
Throughout the month, Impulsea’s consultants accompanied our teams during three major milestones, each offering a different perspective on environmental transformation.

Instead of focusing solely on theory, every session encouraged participants to discuss, question, challenge assumptions and collectively explore possible solutions adapted to Kinvent’s reality.
By combining emotion, scientific understanding and collaborative thinking, these workshops created the conditions for meaningful conversations across the company.

The Week: Three Lunchtime Sessions That Changed Perspectives

The first stage of the program centered around The Week, an internationally recognized experience designed to help people better understand the environmental transformations taking place across the world.
Over three lunchtime sessions, volunteers gathered to watch the three films that make up the project.

Far from traditional documentaries, The Week invites participants into a shared journey.
Each episode progressively explores our relationship with the environmental challenges facing society today, while leaving room for discussion, personal reflection and constructive dialogue.

Watching the films together created an atmosphere where everyone could openly express questions, emotions and ideas.
Some participants discovered new scientific perspectives. Others found themselves reconsidering everyday habits.
Many simply appreciated having dedicated time to pause, reflect and discuss topics that rarely find space in the rhythm of daily work.

The conversations that followed each screening proved just as valuable as the films themselves.
Employees from different departments, backgrounds and generations exchanged viewpoints, shared personal experiences and discovered that environmental responsibility can be approached from many different angles.
Rather than seeking consensus, these discussions helped build a richer collective understanding.

Understanding the Bigger Picture Through “The Great Acceleration”

the great acceleration

The second highlight of the month was a conference entitled “The Great Acceleration.”
Delivered by Impulsea’s consultants, the presentation provided historical and scientific context for the environmental transformations observed over the past decades.

Participants explored how human activities have evolved since the middle of the twentieth century and how this acceleration has affected natural systems, resources and biodiversity.

The objective was not to create anxiety but to better understand the mechanisms behind today’s environmental challenges.

By connecting historical trends with current realities, the conference helped participants move beyond isolated facts and appreciate the broader picture.

Many employees commented on how valuable it was to have complex scientific concepts explained in an accessible and practical way.

Understanding the context is often the first step toward taking informed action.

Imagining a Regenerative Company

environmental month team workshopThe final and perhaps most collaborative stage of the program was the Regenerative Business Workshop, facilitated by Impulsea consultants Ophélie and Jennifer.
Unlike traditional sustainability workshops focused primarily on reducing negative impacts, this approach invites organizations to think differently.

What if companies could actively contribute to restoring ecosystems, strengthening communities and creating long-term positive value?
Working in multidisciplinary groups, Kinvent employees explored this question together.
Through collaborative exercises, participants reflected on the company’s activities, its ecosystem, its stakeholders and the opportunities to integrate regenerative thinking into everyday decisions.

The workshop encouraged everyone to step outside their usual roles.
Engineers, marketers, sales representatives, operations teams, HR and other departments all contributed different perspectives.
This diversity became one of the workshop’s greatest strengths.
The objective was not to produce a perfect sustainability roadmap in a single afternoon.
Instead, it was to unlock creativity, identify opportunities and initiate conversations that will continue well beyond the workshop itself.

From Ideas to Concrete Actions

One of the most rewarding outcomes of the month was the impressive number of ideas generated by employees.
Participants identified numerous opportunities to make Kinvent an even more responsible organization, covering a wide range of topics.

Some proposals focused on reducing the company’s environmental footprint through improved waste management, energy efficiency or more responsible purchasing practices.
Others explored ways to rethink internal processes, encourage sustainable mobility or strengthen awareness among employees.
Additional ideas centered around product life cycles, circular economy principles, collaboration with suppliers and opportunities to integrate sustainability more deeply into future innovation projects.

While not every idea will be implemented immediately, they now form a valuable foundation for future discussions and decision-making.
Perhaps more importantly, they demonstrate something essential:
Environmental responsibility is no longer perceived as the responsibility of one department alone.
It becomes meaningful when everyone contributes.

A Collective Commitment Rather Than Individual Responsibility

One of the strongest messages emerging from the month was that sustainability cannot rely on isolated actions.
Real transformation happens when an organization learns collectively.
Every employee has different expertise, different experiences and different ways of contributing.
Some ideas are operational. Others are strategic. Some require investment.
Others simply require changing habits. All have value.

By involving volunteers from across the company, Kinvent created a space where environmental responsibility became a shared conversation rather than a top-down initiative.
This collaborative approach perfectly reflects the company’s culture.
Innovation has always grown through multidisciplinary collaboration.
The same principle applies to sustainability.

Innovation and Responsibility Go Hand in Hand

As a company developing technologies that improve patient care and athletic performance, Kinvent constantly invests in research, engineering and product innovation.
Looking toward the future also means considering the broader impact of how products are designed, manufactured and delivered.
Environmental responsibility therefore becomes another dimension of innovation.
Just as objective data helps clinicians make better decisions, informed understanding helps organizations make more responsible choices.

The Environmental Month illustrated that sustainability and innovation are not competing priorities.
They reinforce one another.
Questioning existing practices often creates opportunities for improvement, efficiency and long-term resilience.

Building Momentum Beyond June

resegenerative business workshopAlthough the initiative took place throughout June, its purpose extends far beyond a single month.
The conversations started during The Week, the conference and the regenerative workshop have created momentum that will continue to inspire future initiatives.

The ideas collected during the workshops will now help guide future reflections on how Kinvent can continue strengthening its environmental commitment.
Some actions may be implemented quickly. Others will require longer-term planning and collaboration. What matters most is that the process has begun.
Rather than viewing sustainability as a destination, Kinvent sees it as an ongoing journey built through continuous learning and collective engagement.

Thank You to Everyone Who Made This Month Possible

This Environmental Month would not have been possible without the enthusiasm of the many volunteers who dedicated time to participate throughout June.
Their curiosity, openness and willingness to engage made every discussion richer.

A special thank you goes to Kinvent’s Human Resources team for imagining and organizing this initiative, creating opportunities for meaningful dialogue beyond everyday business activities.

We would also like to thank the entire Impulsea team – and especially consultants Ophélie and Jennifer – for guiding our employees with professionalism, kindness and expertise throughout every stage of the program.
Their ability to create engaging conversations and encourage collective reflection played a key role in the success of this initiative.

Looking Forward

At Kinvent, we believe meaningful progress begins with learning.
By taking the time to understand complex challenges, listening to different perspectives and working together to imagine new possibilities, organizations become stronger, more resilient and better prepared for the future.
This June reminded us that sustainability is not only about environmental performance.
It is also about people.
It is about collaboration.
It is about building a shared vision.
And above all, it is about taking the first steps – together.
The journey has only just begun, and we look forward to continuing to build a more responsible, more resilient and more regenerative future alongside all of our employees.
