At Kinvent, great design isn’t about decoration. It’s about clarity, structure, and meaning—helping users focus on what matters, while powerful technology works seamlessly in the background.
That philosophy comes to life through Katerina Katmada, Senior Designer and Head of Product Design at Kinvent.
With a background that bridges Computer Science and Human-Computer Interaction, Katerina brings both analytical rigor and creative sensitivity to everything she designs. And as Kinvent grows, her mission is clear: build product experiences that scale with purpose.
A decade of designing meaningful digital experiences
Before joining Kinvent, Katerina spent nearly ten years designing digital products across a wide range of industries. From startups and research projects to larger organizations, she worked on everything from mobile applications to complex platforms.
Those experiences shaped her design philosophy.
Design, for her, is always a balance—between functionality and visual clarity, between complexity and ease of use. Working across different contexts taught her how to create experiences that are not only intuitive for users, but also maintainable and scalable for teams.
That ability to think holistically is what makes her a key part of Kinvent’s growth story.
Bringing structure and clarity as Kinvent scales
Today, Katerina leads Product Design at Kinvent, playing a central role in shaping how users interact with the company’s ecosystem.
Her responsibilities include:
- Leading and supporting the mobile app redesign
- Building a robust design system to support consistency and speed
- Collaborating closely with developers, product managers, and stakeholders
- Ensuring alignment from high-level product vision down to the smallest UI detail
Her goal is simple, but ambitious: make sure everything Kinvent builds is intuitive, meaningful, and beautifully clear for the people who use it.
Turning messy problems into clear solutions
What does Katerina enjoy most about her job?
The variety.
“No two days are ever the same,” she explains. One day might involve brainstorming a new onboarding flow. The next could be about finding better ways to visualize complex data for end users, or refining typography to improve readability and hierarchy.
At the core of it all is something she loves deeply: bringing structure to messy problems.
Shaping ideas. Creating order. Designing systems that can evolve with the product. And doing it alongside a team that’s curious, driven, and eager to push the product forward together.
Design with purpose
What truly stands out to Katerina about Kinvent is its sense of purpose.
This is a company where people care deeply about what they’re building—and why they’re building it. That shared motivation shows in the energy, ambition, and collaborative mindset across teams.
She also values the fact that design has a real seat at the table. In a fast-growing organization, being able to introduce structure, establish processes, and continuously raise the quality bar is both a challenge and an opportunity.
And beyond the screens and interfaces, there’s meaning.
Knowing that Kinvent’s tools support real people—helping them recover, train, and achieve their goals—adds depth to every design decision.
A defining project: redesigning the Kinvent app
Among her highlights so far, one project clearly stands out: leading the redesign of the Kinvent mobile app.
It’s a large, multi-phase effort that started from a blank slate. Wireframing core experiences, refining user flows, and bringing visual consistency across screens and devices—all while keeping scalability and future growth in mind.
In parallel, building the design system has been a foundational project, one that will enable the team to move faster, work more efficiently, and maintain a high level of quality as the product evolves.
But some of the most impactful moments didn’t happen behind a screen.
Traveling to meet the wider Kinvent team and seeing users interact with the products in real life brought everything into perspective. Watching real people use the tools she helped design reinforced why clarity, usability, and empathy matter so much.
Designing what’s next
As Kinvent continues to grow, so does the importance of thoughtful, human-centered design. With Katerina leading Product Design, the focus remains clear: create experiences that empower users, support teams, and scale seamlessly with the company’s ambitions.
Because at Kinvent, design isn’t just how things look.
It’s how they work, how they feel, and how they help people move forward.
